The Pope's an Atheist? Who Knew?

Joe "The Rat" Ratzinger, a.k.a. Pope Benny Ex Vee Eye, has compared "atheist extremism" with Naziism.  From BBC News:

The pontiff praised Britain's fight against the Nazis - who "wished to eradicate God" - before relating it to modern day "atheist extremism".

Afterwards his spokesman Federico Lombardi said: "I think the Pope knows rather well what the Nazi ideology is".

Now ol' Joe indeed "knows rather well what the Nazi ideology is."  He was a member of the Hitlerjungend at 14 and later blasted away at allied bombers as a flak gunner in Munich before deserting at the end of the war.  I guess you don't have much time for bible thumping when you're thumping away on a Flak 88.

Joe, er Benny - It's Me, Mound. Let's Chat.

You've really pissed in the pickles this time Joe. You've lost control of the whole kid diddling scandal. The tide has turned to the point where it's a distinct possibility even your saintly ass might be hauled before a court of law.

You have only yourself and your underlings to blame by comparing your critics to anti-Semites or blaming the scandal on Zionists or dismissing it as "petty gossip" or trying to write it off as a gay problem. One by one your straw men collapsed before you had a chance to knock them down.

C'mon Joe. I know it. The whole world knows it. You know it too but you won't admit it. The problem, Joe, is your church's fanatical obsession with clerical celibacy. Celibacy is the Titanic of the Roman Catholic Church. You're sinking.

Celibacy attacks the church at every turn. Perverse as this might seem, it even attracts gay men to the priesthood. One gay priest explained it very clearly. The priesthood was the obvious "way out" for a closeted homosexual wishing to escape exposure or dodge a mother otherwise desperate for grandchildren. They don't go in yearning to get at the altar boy's ass, not at all. They believe that getting closer to their faith will actually help them overcome temptation. Later, for some, it turns out they guessed wrong.

Don't lay this all on the gay clergy either. There are plenty of hetero priests who also mistakenly believe they can suppress their sexuality. Priests do diddle girls too.

You see, Joe, gay or straight, men all have a physiology they can't park at the door upon getting ordained. If they're going to stay celibate, they're going to struggle with it - forever. Some win, some lose and, there's no getting around this, you're setting up some of them to lose and then shirking all responsibility for the devastation that creates. You and your cronies are spinning so hard your pointy heads are going to burst trying to pin this on anti-Semites or Zionists or gossipers or homosexuals or whatever you can come up with today and tomorrow and you're beginning to sound downright ridiculous for that.

Here's the deal, Joe. If you're going to insist on celibacy you're going to have to accept personal
(as in "you") responsibility for the consequences. Stand up, be a man. If you really believe this celibacy bullshit is divine, prove it by accepting responsibility.

House of Pederasty Dismisses Scandal as "Petty Gossip"

This from the Vatican, a.k.a. Kid-Diddler U. The Dean of the College of Cardinals, Angelo Sedano, has dismissed the uproar over child abuse by Catholic priests and the cover-up (oh hell, call it what it is - aiding and abetting) of it by senior Catholic prelates right up to the Pope as - wait for it - "Petty gossip."

Pope Benny "The Rat" Ratzinger dodged the whole business, setting his sights instead on "humanity" at large as suffering a "profound crisis" and in need of "spiritual and moral conversion."

And the Pope's personal priest, Fr Raniero Cantalamessa, backtracked on his claim that criticism of the Vatican was akin to anti-Semitism saying he was only referring to "the use of stereotype and the easy passage from individual to collective guilt." Sorry Father but the "collective guilt" thing comes from the decades-long cover up of systemic child abuse perpetuated by senior church officials throughout Europe and North America. That's collective guilt, jackass, and don't bitch just because the shoe fits.

My verdict? The blame rests entirely at the feet of the Vatican, the Holy See. This widespread and enduring outrage is grounded directly in the church's inane policy of clerical celibacy. Popes past and present set up their church as a magnet for the type of person who eventually finds the altar boy's ass irresistible and the senior clerics who turn a blind eye to it or actively cover it up. Worse yet, the celibacy doctrine is nothing more than a fanciful notion some pope past pulled out of his own ass.

I'm betting the Roman Catholic church will weather this scandal and I'm betting the Vatican knows that all too well. In the final analysis the only thing that truly stands between the church and reform are the bottoms that will be sitting in church pews this morning. If there's going to be reform it will come from the outrage and repudiation of ordinary Catholics. If they don't walk, all this is for their church and for their pope is a little stretch of rather bumpy road. The Catholic faithful will decide when their church's priests stop poking little boys up the ass.

When You Can't Hide Behind Jesus

When the Lord won't cover your ass, fall back on sovereign immunity.

The Vatican says the Pope, Benny "The Rat" Ratzinger, as "head of state" cannot be called to testify in any of the kid diddling priest trials underway in the United States.

According to Reuters, Giuseppe dalla Torre, head of the Vatican's tribunal, said, "The pope is certainly a head of state, who has the same juridical status as all heads of state."

Dalla Torre also rejected suggestions by some U.S. lawyers and critics of the Church that Vatican documents in 1962 and 2001 encouraged local bishops not to report sexual abuse cases.

He re-stated the Vatican's position that the documents, one of which called for procedures to remain secret, did not suggest to bishops that they should not report cases to authorities.
"Secrecy served above all to protect the victim and also the accused, who could turn out to be innocent, and it regarded only the canonical (church) trial and did not substitute the penal process," he said.

Yes, I'm sure it was all about 'protecting the victim.' That's why they kept shuffling kid diddlers from parish to parish, to protect the victim, right?

Well, This Will Certainly Piss'em Off in Biloxi

Get out the white hoods and light that cross. This time it's not the Jews or the negroes - it's those damned Catholics!

If there's one thing American rednecks hate, it's the idea of a world government. They're positively xenophobic about it and you'll find plenty in the halls of Congress who'll happily take up the call to arms. These are the guys who see the United Nations as a conspiracy against the United States.

That's why they're bound to be thrown into a headlong tizzy by the latest encyclical from Pope Bennie released on the eve of the G8 summit. From The New York Times:

Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday called for a radical rethinking of the global economy, criticizing a growing divide between rich and poor and urging the establishment of a “world political authority” to oversee the economy and work for the “common good.”

...Indeed, sometimes Benedict sounds like an old-school European socialist, lamenting the decline of the social welfare state and praising the “importance” of labor unions to protect workers. Without stable work, he notes, people lose hope and tend not to get married and have children.

But he also wrote that “The so-called outsourcing of production can weaken the company’s sense of responsibility towards the stakeholders — namely the workers, the suppliers, the consumers, the natural environment and broader society — in favor of the shareholders.”
And he argued that it is “erroneous to hold that the market economy has an inbuilt need for a quota of poverty and underdevelopment in order to function at its best.”

Benedict also called for a reform of the United Nations so that there can be a unified “global political body” that allows the less powerful of the earth to have a voice, and called on rich nations to help less fortunate ones.

Gee, that should go down well with the Group of 8, aka the Group of 8 Only. I can't begin to imagine what the likes of Glenn Beck will make of this.

Was Ist Das? Anybody Smell a Rat?

The 'official' Vatican spokesman, Rev. Federico Lombardi. has touched a nerve by proclaiming that his boss, Joe Ratzinger, was never a member of the Hitler Youth. I guess Father Lombardi hasn't had time to thumb through Pope Bennie's autobiography where he notes, quite plainly, that he was enrolled in the Hitler Youth, but he sort of went AWOL from the HY after he got out of the seminary.

I guess Father Lombardi hasn't seen this picture either.
I'm not saying that Joe was an ardent Nazi. The only way we'd have known that was if Germany had won the war. When that scrap didn't turn out too well for the Fatherland, Germany was instantly full of innocents like Joe who'd never really supported Hitler.

A Pope? Distorting Science? Don't Give Me That Or I'll Stone Your Ass Back to The Dark Ages

Those total, know-nothings at the British medical journal (yeah, right - just look at the state of their teeth!), The Lancet are claiming that God's own living, breathing Saint is fudging the truth about condoms and HIV/AIDS.

Damn, isn't there a research or publication grant we can scutttle to make these people shut up? From BBC News:

It said the Pope's recent comments that condoms exacerbated the problem of HIV/Aids were wildly inaccurate and could have devastating consequences.

The Pope had said the "cruel epidemic" should be tackled through abstinence and fidelity rather than condom use.

Correspondents say the attack from the Lancet was unprecedentedly virulent.

Excuse me, but I thought that HIV/AIDS had "unprecedently virulent" trademark protected. Is it really just me?

Pope's Euro Smackdown

Joe "The Rat" Ratzinger, better known to the likes of you as Pope Benedict Ex-Vee-Eye, just keeps stepping in it and tracking crap all across the Vatican carpets. It seems that when he opens his mouth, weird stuff can come out. His latest Holy Gaffe, on the eve of his scheduled tour of Africa, was to proclaim that the scourge of HIV/AIDS would be made worse, not better, by the distribution of condoms.

Now Pope Joe has the Euros in an uproar. France, Germany and Belgium to put the Divine Smackdown on Benny XVI. From The Guardian:

Eric Chevallier, a spokesman for the French foreign ministry, said in an online briefing: "France voices extremely sharp concern over the consequences of Benedict XVI's comments. While it is not up to us to pass judgment on church doctrine, we consider that such comments are a threat to public health policies and the duty to protect human life."

Laurette Onkelinx, Belgium's health minister, said the pope's comments reflected "a dangerous doctrinaire vision". "His declarations could demolish years of prevention and education and endanger many human lives," she said.

In Berlin, German health minister Ulla Schmidt and development minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul criticised the pope's remarks in a joint statement and underlined the importance of condom use in developing nations.

"Condoms save lives, in Europe as well as on other continents," the ministers said. "Modern assistance to the developing world today must make access to family planning available to the poorest of the poor especially the use of condoms. Anything else would be irresponsible."

If it's not the Holocaust, it's AIDS. Who made this guy pope anyway and what were they thinking?

Joe the Rat Says - Condoms Cause AIDS

Pope Benny, aka Joe Ratzinger, is at it again. This time the Pope is in Africa where he opined that condoms contribute to the spread of AIDS. From Reuters:

"It (AIDS) cannot be overcome by the distribution of condoms. On the contrary, they increase the problem," he said in response to a question about the Church's widely contested position against the use of condoms.
