Poor Steve. Canada zigged while he zagged. We don't believe him on climate change. We just don't. Atlantic Canada no longer believes him at all. We don't even support his pet project - war in Afghanistan. He hasn't even begun to take the lid off his barrel of social conservatism and he's hit a wall.
Here's a hint, Steve. The Canadian people are an inherently liberal people. For good (and sometimes not so good) we prefer to be led by Liberals. Your agenda has always rested on moving us out your way but your way isn't even the centre right but the far right. You've tried to play the moderate but you're not fooling enough of us for it to work.
It all might have been so different, Steve, if you hadn't jumped into the same pair of pantyhose as your American Idol, George Bush. Even the American people can't stand him, Steve. Why would we want a guy who wants to be just like George when he grows up? Maybe if George w. hadn't been such a colossal screw up you could've had some chance but that's history now. If you're going to strap yourself to a corpse, Steve, at least make sure he's a floater, not a sinker.
So Steve, your "base" on Afghanistan is 26% which is remarkably close to your mentor's own popularity at home. Keep pushing that one and your support could be just like George w.'s.
Global warming? You blew that one too. We are more willing to take our cues from David Suzuki and Al Gore than believe what Baird spews out. The people we trust aren't your people.

Actually, I want to be led by the NDP.
Canadians are liberal yes but not Liberal.
The difference between the two extends from the moderate progressive conservativism of the Greens to the social democracy of the NDP. The Liberal party's unquestioning assumption of rightful ownership of the votes of every Canadian left of center is one of the reasons they are currently in the penalty box.
