This Is Chilling

Amerika First

When I stumbled across this I doubted it could be true. Dr. Seuss, 1941, "America First" it all seemed too much.

So, I checked it out at Snopes.com. It's real.

Amazing. I guess we all forget that it wasn't that long ago when racism was part of our culture. There is a section of the city of Hamilton called Westdale, for example, that had covenants forbidding homeowners to sell to Jews, Catholics, Italians and blacks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covenant_(law)#Examples_outside_U.S.

What is the weird bit about Kim LaCapria at the bottom of the Snopes page. Is that supposed to be satire or what.

Fortunately, Lorne, courts now refuse to enforce those covenants as being against "public policy." The American example reveals how, when social cohesion fractures, it can lead to a revival of racism and bigotry of all descriptions. We have a similar situation building with people such as Kellie Leitch.

RWW - I have no idea what that Kim LaCapria reference is about.

A clue to the storyline that Trump and his rulers (ie. Bannon et al) are keen on filling the gap between 1933 when the Fascists lost grip in North America and now. The Nazis didn't lose. They just took a breather.

"America First" was the organization associated with Charles Lindbergh, formed to pressure Roosevelt to keep the US from entering WWII against Germany.
