By the time he runs out his appeals, George w. Bush will be leaving office just in time to give him a pardon and no harm done. However a federal judge today gave Scooter Libby 30-months worth of incentive to keep this game rolling.
Libby was sentenced to two and a half years for perjury and obstruction in the CIA leak investigation. The court also levied a $250,000 fine.
"People who occupy these types of positions, where they have the welfare and security of nation in their hands, have a special obligation to not do anything that might create a problem," U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton said.
Gee, it's a good thing you can't get slammer time for lying your nation into a war that takes the lives of tens of thousands of innocents.
