Did They Really Torture Detainees?

Okay, I wasn't there. Neither, I'm sure, were you. But ask yourself this. Would a government that tolerates its security forces grabbing little boys off the street and ass-raping them in public really have many qualms about torturing detainees as a matter of course?

It's not much of a stretch, is it?

Absolutely not.

And given the past history of abuses....

And where does one find that information? Word of mouth?

Jingles: it's all out there already and been out there since 2002 - reports, documentation, etc., etc., etc.

Not paying much attention, eh?

Just trying to catch up...that's all. I've been out of the country for 2002. Cheers

The New York Times reported on the return of boy rape less than a year after the Taliban had been run out.

A few years later the story leaked out that Canadian soldiers had been complaining to Ottawa about having to stand by and do nothing while their Afghan security counterparts had their way with kids they grabbed on the street.

The government response - then as now - was at first to feign total ignorance of receiving any reports, then denial and finally, just a couple of months ago, MacKay said Canadian soldiers henceforth wouldn't hesitate to intervene.

They're really creepy - the Afghan security forces AND Harper and his cabinet.

Mentarch....I'm not your friend and with the sarcasm you display, I wouldn't want to be.
