The Murderous States of Amerika.

It's been raining dead Americans over the past 24 hours. Two mass shootings - first in El Paso, Texas, and then in Dayton, Ohio - have left 30 dead and scores of wounded in hospitals.

Talk about a fitting tribute to the efficacy of American and Russian assault rifles. They do get the job done, especially when they're rocking those high-capacity magazines. Security photos of the Texas shooter show him carrying an AK-47. The Ohio shooter is said to have used the 'made in America' option, the .223.

Washington is going full bore "thoughts and prayers" mode. A fittingly grotesque insult to the dead and their survivors from a hopelessly corrupt, 'bought and paid for' Congress.

And it's not even a holiday weekend in the States although today is "Coast Guard Birthday" day whatever in hell that means.

The Texas shooter is in custody. The Ohio gunman brought the death toll to an even ten.

Well it's "go to meetin'" across the United States of America. And those pews will have plenty of rabid 2nd Amendment bottoms in them, praying to Jaysus not to let this be the day when those Washington pinkos come for their guns.

One last thing. The American media (ours also) need to stop calling people who've been shot "injured." They're not injured, FFS, they're wounded. Injury violently inflicted is a wound. When you stub your toe on the furniture, that's an injury.

The Texas shooter/murderer had the good sense to wear ear muffs for protection!
I have little sympathy for Americans who will pray ,hold hands, place roadside memorials then return to Wall*mart , aka death star, for more guns and ammo.
If they , the muricans, have not got it by now they are a lost cause.

TrailBlazer - he had both prescribed ear protection and ballistic eye protection. This boy was a range rat.

Good to see that NRA nutjobs adhere to OSHA standards.

Great point about the use (or lack thereof) of the word "wounded." "Terrorist" is another term sadly unavailable for escribkng white supremacists. Just tonight I thought of another very simple thing the media could do, if they wanted to avoid the "isolated incident" fiction of their customary presentation (Pro tip: they don't want to avoid this one bit). Here's how it would work: "Breaking news tonight, a gunman in El Paso Texas has killed the 340th to 360th American citizen to die by mass shooting in 2019, bringing the total since 2015 to 1045," or 1/4 of the dead on 9/11. I made those numbers up. Cover it like a yearly, decade-long total that presents it in the proper context. This, to me, in our short news cycle trained minds, erases that problem and presents REALITY as it is. This way, the latest incident adds to, and contextualizes the others. Think our, or their, truth seeking media are up to the task of actually presenting an ongoing terrorist menace accurately?

.. so true.. The 'news' needs to know its walking around pants fallen down below its knees.. barely able to spell correctly
Rarely is there follow up re 'the injured'.. their families, friends, work or play associates. 'Shot' is the term for one hit by gunfire. Wounded is of course the correct term.. of a firefighter, cop, an ambulance, passing nurse, .. paramedics, hospital emergency and trauma center.. those who deal in the reality of the wounded, dying or dead.. Pressure on the wound, stop the bleeding, clear the air passages, respond to people going into shock.. A shooter with AR-15 ? End result is a war zone.. hell, any gun is part of a war zone..

I find it odd that at one time gun crimes were mainly handgun related.
No a days the weapon of choice is military style automatic weapons used by persons wearing camouflage army boots and body armour , in other words full military facsimile.
Perhaps the USA obsession with it's military has something to do with the terrible states of america.
