It's not the Texas book depository but this will fuel conspiracy theories for a long time. American Satyr Jeffrey Epstein is dead, apparently by his own hand. It's reported he was found hanging in his cell in New York this morning.
Epstein was reported to have made an attempt on his life last week and was supposedly put on suicide watch. That must not have lasted very long. Jail officials seem to have left him with everything he needed to hang himself.
Conspiracy theorists will argue he didn't kill himself, he was killed because he threatened the reputations of any number of powerful people from Alan Dershowitz to Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, even Donald J. Trump.
I can't help but wonder if there were many sighs of relief as the news of Epstein's death came out this morning.
I'm guessing that none of the tainted rich white men will be crowding the front row of mourners at Epstein's funeral. Still, this isn't going to end when Epstein is potted. Prosecutors recently estimated his assets as worth well over $500-million and Epstein is survived by neither wife nor child. $500-million buys a lot of squabbling and that sort of thing invariably drags in no end of other lurid stuff.

Attorney General William Barr said he was "appalled" to learn of Epstein's death while in federal custody. The FBI and the Department of Justice's Office of the Inspector General will investigate, he said.
"Mr. Epstein's death raises serious questions that must be answered," Barr said in a statement.
Cameron Lindsay, a former warden who ran three federal lockups, said the death represents "an unfortunate and shocking failure, if proven to be a suicide."
"Unequivocally, he should have been on active suicide watch and therefore under direct and constant supervision," Lindsay said.

This is going to fuel conspiracy theorists for years, it has already started - the majority of sceptics smell something fishy and the alt-right and fox news will blame it on the Clintons, in fact we have twitter reports of that one already.
But to be realistic, if Trump and his pals are involved how can we believe Barr of the DOJ to be impartial. The facts are scary - no suicide watch, malfunctioning cell camera and the silence of the guards - so far.
If nothing is done about this, this will definitely be the beginning of the end for justice and democracy.
The implications of this story go way beyond child prostitution.
With luck the US right and left will try and better each other to make political headway with the results of any investigation.
The democrats will look to Trump as a perpetrator whilst the republicans will have a hayday with Clinton.
Hopefully the end result will be a revulsion of those in high places.

BUT this entire story revolves around the complete failure of 'the authorities' when presented with a fait accompli.. Acosta et al scammed the system for Epstein.. and his accomplices. I have zero doubt thencurrent President Of the United States is complicit up to his eyeballs.. it was his modus operendi.. He's polished that act for his entire life.. and now the microscope is looking at the reality.. the dirt.. This aint going to be pretty.. in fact its going to be revelationary.. Epstein dead just means even more suspicions, conspiracy theory.. heightens the drama. Don't expect the related prosecuters to relax or go slow.. It will be pedal to the metal. He knew he was toast, probably for life, however short.. Look formfacts re how he hung himself.. Shoelaces ? Belt ? Trousers ? Shirt sleeves, Blanket.. Attached to what ? A hook ? c'mon ... ...

Sal, it's hard to know where this will lead. I once met the leading US expert on blood spatter who was brought into the JFK investigation at the outset. His experience was hair-raising. By the time he got the call and hopped a flight to Dallas most of the blood evidence was gone. The car had been cleaned. Even Kennedy's blood stained suit had been incinerated at the hospital - or so I was told.
It's amazing how stuff gets bungled when interests have a predetermined outcome in mind.
.. I ran out of steam, trying to completely read a recent article listing the who's who of Epstein's black book of friends, associates. Many in that article also got a brief but thorough descriiption in a paragraph or two.. how and when they met Epstein, or description of ongoing relationships & 'social' interelationships. Its stunning in sheer volume & numbers. The article became almost frighteningly monotonous after 15 minutes.. it was as if they could have done better by listing who he did not know or socialize with Epstin et al. Donald Trump comes off incredibly badly. As usual he has been lying his ass off while attempting to distance himself.. but the various 'modelling agencies' - the Mar a Lago connection & involvement just won't go away.
I try to imagine A Robert Mueller level investigation tearing into Donald's flabby attempt and getting right to the facts. Julie K Brown & her Miami Herald crew will get the job done, even as the various legal proceedings gather steam. Another question for me.. is what will Epstein's attorneys do ? How do they keep milking the potential.. the settlement of the estate - sale of the various properties, the assets..
Again.. this is an astonishing revelation of corruption, illegal acts, crimes, assaults, complicity, denial, deception & deceit.. depravity. Where and how did Epstain accrue such vast wealth ? He was dismissed from Bear Stearns.. yes yes.. he made certain moves, perhaps brilliant ones.. as some sort of hedge fund guru.. and collected ultra wealthy clients.. most or many of whom evolved into extended friendships and business relationships.
I find it almost impossible to believe there are not recordings, photos, .. there is certainly no lack of testimony re what was actually going on. I don't neccessarily imply blackmail.. but his 'guests' had to have at the very least, a bad feeling after partaking long enough.. This was a practiced, polished ongoing scene. Plenty of witnesses, indeed an almost endless parade of witnesses. His 'madame' ms Maxwell most certainly would be a target for 'removal'. Whomever 'managed' any secret recordings as well. Lifestyles of the rich and famous has its poster boys now for when it goes off the rails and deep into depravity.. Dershowitz looks poised to go down in flames, Trump certainly.. Twitter is already helping sort the desperate Trump defenders from those dealing in facts. Full credit to Julie K Brown for blowing the lid off this coverup !! A Pulitzer or many.. are in her stars. Ideally someone is identified who is responsible for surveillance footage at the jail where Elstain died.. that one particular critical camera that malfunctioned.. some 700 prisoners.. I'll be interested in any physical description of the layout in the area where Epstein was housed.. and any reports re what jail staff were working nearby. Would hate to hear any of them had an 'accident' in the very near future
