Now "Mittens" has some new nicknames from his British visit. He's "Mitt the Twit" or my favourite, from Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, "The American Borat."
Romney managed to best some of George W. Bush’s best “hey, did I do that?” moments during his visit when he first dissed the country’s Olympic preparations in an interview. He continued, doubting the country could pull together a proper Olympic brouhaha, and said the people might not “come together” to celebrate the games.
Then he revealed a supposedly secret meeting with Britain’s intelligence agency MI6 to press, further being a general doofus. Amid all the scrutiny, it came to light that Romney cast Britain in an unflattering light in his book No Apology: The Case for American Greatness – a bit of a riff on Mittens’ continued and erroneous assertion that the current POTUS likes to spend his free time apologizing for America in all corners of the globe, a fib that appeals to a certain segment of voters.
In the book, Romney sneers of England:
“England [sic] is just a small island. Its roads and houses are small. With few exceptions, it doesn’t make things that people in the rest of the world want to buy. And if it hadn’t been separated from the continent by water, it almost certainly would have been lost to Hitler’s ambitions. Yet only two lifetimes ago, Britain ruled the largest and wealthiest empire in the history of humankind. Britain controlled a quarter of the earth’s land and a quarter of the earth’s population.”Clarkson's final tweet sort of said it all - "Mitt Romney. Go fuck yourself. We are better than you."

Hi, Mound. I have been following Mitt's follies, and its been quite amusing. Check out what a right wing journalist from the Washington Post had to say pre-trip.
Obama team nervous about Romney overseas trip hilarious
Romney might have forgotten the British stood up to Hitler all those yrs almost by themselves. The Americans didn't get into the game until much, much later. Romney also didn't seem to remember Britian had Canadian & Australian troops out their dying well before the Americans got there. He might also remember the Americans made a ton of money off of that war.
Yes, Britain is a small country, size wise & being such they are much more enviornemntal with smallher homes & roads. They don't waste much unlike the Americans with their highways & urban sprawl.
As usual romney has put his foot in his mouth. If he doesn't even understand England how can the Americans expect him to understand more cmplicated countries. He is going to make Bush's gaffe's look like rocket science.
He might also want to remember the Brits never had a bunch of idiots take out a large building in London wiht a plane, since WWII. When the brits had problems with terrorists, they deal with it quickly & much more efficiently than the Americans have.
Thanks for the link, Christian. Yes it was hilarious. I e-mailed Jennifer Rubin and asked if she didn't feel like she had her twits caught in the wringer?
Lol, reminded me of the epigram in one volume of Churchill's history of the Second World War, where he remarks that Britain fought on "until those who hitherto had been half blind were half ready."
