Romney's Russia Blunder Backfires Again

Another Russian leader has responded to Mitt Romney's labeling of Moscow as America's "Number One geopolitical foe."   Earlier in the week it was Vlad Putin using Romney's slur to justify Russian hard-line opposition to US missile defence plans for Europe.

Now it's  Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich warning that should Romney take the White House it could trigger an arms race or even a renewal of the Cold War.

If Mr. Romney wins the presidential election, the US could fall back to a time when the bulk of revenues goes to a small group of people and military programmes are prioritized,” Dvorkovich said at a forum in Ukraine Saturday.

“Unfortunately, military programmes will play an increasing role in Russia as well, if this happens,” he said.

Hello, that's what is happening already, in spite of the fact that the last decent Republican President warned against it as he was leaving office in 1961 (DDE).
