Some of the People All of the Time, All of the People Some of the Time

America's top hoaxsters have done it again. The propaganda mill that stretches through the far right from Bush, Cheney and Rice right down through Fox News, O'Reilly and Limbaugh has shown that it can still work its magic on the American people.

Gallup reports that Americans now see Iran as by far the greatest threat to world stability. Iran beat out the runner-up, China, 35 to 19. Among Republicans - inarguably the most gullible species of American - Iran scored more than 50%.

The poll results suggest that Bush/Cheney are well on their way to laying the essential groundwork for attacking Iran. That, of course, would be Middle East Screw-Up #3.

To show how evil yet-powerful the republikan machine (and following in their machevallian plan, the Canadian CONs) is, they have essentially given the American populace its worst president in about 200 years yet has done a good job of lying and poisoning the well water, that it remains a viable option for the 2008 election.
After terms of Coolidge and Hoover successfully demonstrated no ability or will to rein in a corrupt and wild economic system during the late 20s and early 30s, the Republicans found themselves in the wilderness for a good 20 years.
Now, you've got a prez and vp who have fingerprints on a treasonable offence, yet remain unpunished. They've mocked up a fake war that has cost thousands of American guy and gals their lives and left thousands more injured. Still, no justice.
They can hire a group of faux heroes to shamefully discolour the service record of one hero, just to cinch another term for their non-hero.
Iran? When Americans are not smart enough to see these evil people for what they are, they are capable of anything. Unfortunately, the demise of Greece and Rome came at a time where their weapons were not powerful enough to bring down other nations and species with it. We are living in more deadly times, however.

Deadly times, indeed - but so very far from boring.
