The judge in the Phil Spector murder trial has handed the defendant a real problem.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler will allow jurors in the Phil Spector murder trial to hear testimony from a security guard who says he heard the record producer rant against women and declare they should all be shot in the head. The judge had originally decided the statement, made in 1993, should be kept out but says he changed his mind on doing further research on the issue.
"In this case, you have a woman who is shot in the head," Fidler said. "It is highly particularised." The judge also said the testimony "tends to show the depth of Mr Spector's anger."
In another bizarre twist, Spector's lead lawyer, Bruce Cutler, has taken a leave of absence from the trial to film a new television reality show in which he plays a judge.
Cutler, best known as the flamboyant counsel to former mob boss John Gotti, says he'll be back for closing arguments on the 23rd. In the meantime, he says he'll keep tabs on the trial by monitoring live television coverage and reading transcripts.

Spector is one of the most bizarre people on the planet in my view. How can anyone doubt this man hates women?
This one is too odd for me.
Bizarre he is, undoubtedly. If you want to see his movie debut rent Easy Rider. He's the creep in the limo who buys the cocaine from Peter Fonda. Life imitates art?
