If as Pope Rat.. oh you know... is right, and the Roman Catholic Church is the only real Christain (that's 'Christian' in ped-language) church, then his Los Angeles Diocese much be the churchiest of them all. On this Sabbath, the very day before jury selection, RCC-LA has announced a $660-million settlement. From The New York Times:
The Los Angeles cases have been particularly complex because they involve so many victims, multiple insurance companies, many Catholic religious orders whose own priests and brothers stand accused, and a prominent archbishop, Cardinal Roger M. Mahony, who has cast himself as an ally of victims but has been accused by them of intransigence.

A settlement would require the archdiocese to make public its confidential files that could shed light on which church officials knew of the abuse accusations, and when they knew, Mr. Boucher said. Many of the accused priests had multiple victims because they were moved by their superiors from one parish to another when accusations arose.

They have settlements outstanding in my area of Newfoundland. They already sold their church (which the congregation paid for) and then forced the congregation to by the church back through donations. So the congregation has paid for the sexual abuse by the clergy in my hometown. Talk about convenient. They'll have to bring back indulgences to cough up the rest of the cash these pedo-priest catholics are responsible for paying.
Would have been better had these children not have had their lives ruined in the first place.
The "lord" certainly works in mysterious, illegal and repugnant ways.
How can any human being support this ongoing sexual abuse by the Roman Catholic church through donations to them after this filth comes to the forefront is beyond me.
After years of the supposed "moral" people of the Catholic Church calling me a fag, sinner, etc.I now call priests perverts. I actually do so to their face, especially if they smile at me. Sick pigs. All the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church is concerned with are increased numbers for increased wealth and increased power. That is all "God" is about...unprincipled brainwashing to gain more control....and of what? An unknown entity? Humans are made up of the same chemicals and gases the earth is made from. We are not more special than any other living thing upon this earth. It's about time the RC Church was made to address its centuries of indescretion. They like to refer to Henry VIII as the divider of their faith. At least he didn't hide his women and his sexuality from the masses behind the robes of God.
