Few Know This Better than Rex Murphy

T-Rex's latest screed in the National Post, slams the idea that today's journalists are "guardians of the truth."  For proof, "Tailing Pond" Murphy offers what he calls "Trump journalism," the American media's unfair treatment of the US liar-in-chief, the Mango Mussolini himself, Donald J. Trump.

Journalism is frequently as wayward as the social media it ritually deplores, propelled by a lust-like drive to the parts of a story that accord with its prejudices and predispositions. It has long since replaced the attempt to be objective with a commitment to activism and advocacy. Much of contemporary journalism does not report on the game. It sees itself as part of the game — it seeks to massage opinion, reinforce favoured perspectives, take down its “enemies” and shield its heroes.
There is an old word, not seen much in modern writing, quite possibly in near full decay from lack of use. Which is a shame for it still remains possibly the only full semantic vehicle for certain phenomena. The word is incompossible, and its meaning (taken here from the Oxford English Dictionary) is: adj. – Unable to exist if something else exists. Two things are incompossible when the world of being has scope enough for one of them, but not enough for both.

To illustrate the meaning, I offer a few sentences: Environmentalism and journalism are incompossible. Hatred of and contempt for Donald Trump and honest reporting on him are incompossible.
Place the adjective environmental to govern the noun journalism and the former swallows up, nullifies, extinguishes quite the latter. What we may call real journalists on the global warming file are, to use a familiar category, on the very sharp end of the endangered species list. The majority of environmental journalists are a choir in perfect harmony on a one-note score, the settled-science symphony of the IPCC and Al Gore.
Murphy's flaccid piece is, as I noted, a screed from a one-time journalist who has self-degraded into an ideological hack. Murphy's truth is largely shaped by knowledge he strenuously avoids as a vampire might the noonday sun.

Pity Frank has gone fishing. This is a perfect piece for their drivel section.

Mr Murphy became a spent force when Mark Critch began satirizing and impersonating him years ago on 22 Minutes, to excellent effect.

Now he is a pitiable figure.

Murphy is a weasel, but he's right that the Fake Media's treatment of Trump is deplorable. They hate Trump because he's been railing against "terrible trade deals" for decades and is doing something about it – in the face of fierce opposition from the Powers That Be.

In 1987, The Donald put out full page ads in major papers saying America was getting ripped off by Japan in terms of defense spending and trade. In 1989, Reagan was in Japan receiving $2M in speaking fees.

The three A's of Fake News Journalism are as follows ('A' stands for A-hole): activist journalism, ax-to-grind journalism and agitprop journalism. All Orwellian oxymorons.

So for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, the The Donald is right once again: Fake News is the enemy of the people.

High Born moochers don't send out their flying monkeys for the good of the people. They send them out to weasel wealth from the people that they don't have the wherewithal to earn. Doing terrible things around the world. For money and dynasty. Until they bleed the economy dry.

From the War to End All Wars to the 2000s Global Financial Bust Out, Liars in Public Places have been behind it all. One colossal disaster after another.

One day they will run out of disasters. Sooner than they trigger the 6th mass extinction via global warming: aka, the Anthropocene. They seem hellbent on going out with a bang!

666. The number of the beast. It is the number of man. The Bible says God created the world 6000 years ago. (Around the beginning of the Bronze Age.) And the Bible predicts there will be 6,000 years of misrule by man that'll culminate in world-war Armageddon.

Let's hope The Donald can pull the chestnuts out of the fire. Otherwise it's on the Lord Jesus!

"Murphy is a weasel, (deserving another faceplant) but he's right that the Fake Media's treatment of Trump is deplorable."
Seconded.

Ah, the predictable Trump Trolls make an appearance to defend the 'Fake President' against the media that has to live with that degenerate charlatan.

The fact that Trump is a charlatan is not mutually exclusive with the fact that all main American media are degenerate.
Suggest refreshment course on probability.

Here's your problem, Anon. Too many of your fellow Gullibillies cheer and stomp when Trump brands American journalists as "enemies of the people." Hitler and Goebbels did just that. They denounced Germany's free press as "Lugenpresse." That's German for "fake news." It worked then. It pretty obviously works now, at least on you.

The media aren't degenerate, Fox News excepted. They're not unfair to Trump. Anyone who employs the identical tactics to undermine the national press employed by monsters like Hitler and Goebbels deserves no better than the criticism, usually fact checking, that Trump so richly receives.

I'm not sure whether you're a troll or a garden-variety moron, but I am sure you have a feeble grasp of the foundations and importance of democracy. And so, as 2018 draws to a close, there's just time for one final "go fuck yourself." And a Happy New Year.

When it comes to Trump and the liberal media who hate him, I dislike Trump more . . . but it's a tough contest. And I've noticed that the media tend to go after Trump the hardest when for odd random reasons he happens to be doing something right (or, more often, wrong but less wrong than consensus establishment opinion) and ease up on him the most when he is doing the worst things. So for instance, whenever he bombs something, suddenly he's OK for a day in their books. Withdraw troops from somewhere they're just making things worse and of no conceivable use to the US and it's "Oh, the horror! How could he even consider not killing when killing was an option?!"

Rex Murphy is a pitiful lying hypocritical creep, a quisling windbag wrapping himself in the flag so hard to conceal his treachery the result is a straitjacket.
