Senate majority leader Harry Reid says he's heard that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes for 10-years. That, according to Reid, could well account for Romney's refusal to release his tax records.
The Twit is under pressure to show that he actually paid up. It's easily enough done. All Romney has to do is release his tax returns just like so many other pols, including Mitt's father, George, readily did.
What's Romney afraid of, that the public might find out he's rich? Pretty much everyone already knows that. If he's got clean tax returns releasing them would remove the spotlight and generate a rebound in Romney's poll numbers. The longer he waits, the louder the chorus clamoring for his returns, the worse it looks for Mitt.
Then again, if these rumours are accurate, if Mitt is a chronic tax dodger, Mitt and the GOP have a monster of a problem on their hands. Right now the pressure is coming from the White House and Congressional Democrats. Before long the GOP might have to jump in as well. This story has legs and unless the Romney camp can conjure up something to make it all go away - and soon - their guy may have to release his returns or fall on his sword.
Meanwhile, Robert Reich has this look at how Romney's money mill works and how it works against the American people.

This reeks of some sort of trap. Now if Mitt releases his tax records and it's all legit, he'll look a lot better than before.
Yeah, and for that very reason I'm surprised he hasn't already released his returns. The longer he refuses and drags this out, the worse he looks.
Perhaps he has a team of accountants working on the "Mitt's" tax problems to make him look good too. His tax problem will be made public after the diddling is completed.
