Rule # 1

The first rule - don't entrust the vulnerable and helpless to the unsupervised care of guys who look like this:

He's practical nurse, Nathan Sutherland, now under arrest for raping a 29-year old woman who has been incapacitated since the age of 3. The assault happened at the Hacienda Healthcare centre where the woman was impregnated and gave birth.

All of Hacienda's male staff provided DNA swabs, all except Sutherland who held out until forced to comply by court order.  Bingo, the holdout was a match. In Arizona, the tariff for this sort of thing runs from 14 years to life depending on aggravating circumstances and, in this case, there seems to be no shortage of those.

Meanwhile, closer to home, the Vancouver police have arrested 47 men in connection with an underage sex sting.  Among those swept up were a former Vancouver School Board trustee and a private Catholic girls school teacher.

Here's the thing. If the Vancouver cops can nail 47 of these sexual predators in one operation, they've got a lot more work to do.
