A Sea of Bodies

Think of them as collateral damage from the nearly four-year term of the Trump administration. They're the men and women who were either fired or resigned from Team Trump and, trust me, there's a whack of them.

A few of them left with their honour and integrity intact. Most were just shown the door.

The first tier includes the generals - James Mattis, H.R. McMaster and John Kelly. You can add ex-national security advisor, Dan Coats, and probably Rex Tillerson to that abbreviated list. Read Bob Woodward's latest book, "Rage," and you'll understand.

The second tier has to include the colourful and controversial departures. John Bolton, Anthony Scaramucci, Steve Bannon, KellyAnne Conway, Michael Flynn, Ryan Zinke, Jeff Sessions, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Alexander Acosta, Sebastian Gorka, Nikki Haley, Reince Priebus, Mick Mulvaney, Kirstjen Nielsen, and Madeleine Westerhut.

The third tier is almost endless. These are the people most of us have never heard of and they are legion.

Here's the thing. Collectively this group knows where the bodies, if there are any, are buried. These are the people Trump depended upon to wash his dirty laundry. Some of these people, probably a good many of them, will take Donald Trump's secrets with them to the grave. Others, however, may eagerly await an interview summons to the post-Trump Department of Justice. Some may be anxious to make deals lest someone else gets there first.

I'm having a hard time seeing a Biden administration prosecuting Trump's lackeys, even the ones that set up concentration camps that hold children in dog cages. One of the reasons that Trump now occupies the White House instead of a jail cell is the almost total lack of accountability for lawbreaking among rich and powerful white men. I don't expect that to change anytime soon. Look forward not back continues to be standard operating procedure.

There aren't very many sympathetic characters in this menagerie, Sal. With a few exceptions, Trump did seem to attract/choose a feral type of aide, more so in the final two years.

Hard to say, Cap. Glenn Kirschner envisions some pursuit of the Trump grifters. He also maintains that, within the DOJ, knives are being sharpened. The justice department has been pretty badly abused under Barr and it's hard to imagine it going forward without someone pushing the "reset" button. Future AG's have to know that Barr-scale corruption won't be tolerated. If not, it's only a matter of time before someone else occupies that office and picks up where Barr left off. That strikes directly at the heart of what remains of democracy in America.

The daggers are out with in all that group of Trumpty...who was it that said Humpty didn’t fall? Well....there’s a well deserved one coming for Trumpt. Biden compared what Trumpt has done to Nazie Germany .....Trumpt is not far from the description of being a Nazzzie.

The Trump organisation brought out Murica! for what it is and we have all seen it is not so nice.
Whoever runs Murica next will be little different just not so obvious.
There may be a sacrificial lamb or two but don't expect too much; US politicians do not like being held accountable.
If anything good can come out of populist administrations such s Trump , Boris and others is that they finally stand up to be counted instead of lurking in the shadows pretending to be something else.
The GW Bushes and Tony Blair's still roam amongst us and , in some circles, are highly regarded.
