Dedicated to the Restoration of Progressive Democracy
.. people in the streets in very large loud numbers ..?
Apparently booze sales are booming. I can't see anyone interfering with that but, who knows?
Would there be any health benefit if I were to quit abstaining? Should I stock up on the liquor store's stuff in anticipation of running out of peroxide and rubbing alcohol? My brother becomes a genius whenever he smokes dope. I think I'll ask him before he runs out of it.
About abstaining, John, consult the people who will have to share their isolation with you. When the subject comes up, I flash back to Ralph Klein, jovial old Ralph and his favourite St. Louis tavern. I don't say this to encourage boozing but, damn, he was a lot nicer before he went teatotal. After that he was a real bastard.
Ain't happening in Ontario, Mound. Ford declared liquor and cannabis stores essential services. It's not often that I agree with Dougie, but he made the right call on this one.Cap
Reality strikes, eh Cap? Like my Viking ancestors, you can't have the clan over for a feast without booze.
I'm Irish, Mound, but I have similar beliefs!!! Local price of 4 litres of BC hooch is about 35.98 plus 15% plus more tax -- 5 litres of California hooch is 12.98 plus 8% tax in AZ. Problem is I can't get across the border with 5 litres of anything. Oh well, we do have health care (or did until the virus struck).
Well, Lulymay, let's revisit this question around June and see if our attitudes have changed.
