As I inelegantly stated in my previous post, Donald Trump tore a hole in the global consensus yesterday when he pulled the United States out of the Paris climate accord.
ForeignPolicy has a much better take on
the damage Trump has caused, especially to America, written by a number of individuals considered Obama's "brain trust." The essay reveals how this was a gratuitous act of stupidity for which America may pay dearly for many years to come.

Breathtakingly stupid -- period.
Sometime I wonder how much worse this is than the historic Canadian Liberal Party position of signing everything and doing nothing. Agreeing to targets and doing nothing to meet them. Then agreeing to new targets.
Everything Trump does, Owen, is theatre targeted at a specific audience, the Gullibillies. The more obtuse and offensive he is the better they like it. He has his base eating out of the palm of his hand.
I agree, RWW. I addressed this yesterday in a post.

Well, to put it bluntly, he's set the USA back a decade, at least. If the next president has any inclination toward meeting climate change head-on, they'd need at least two full terms to bringing the USA back in line with the rest of the world's industrialized nations.
There's simply a shit-load of problems that Trump's caused by this one single action, and like every other problem, they begin to cascade.
And that time, is time we just don't have.
Time we don't have to squander. That's very accurate, Troy. It also applies to Trudeau, Notley and Wall.
