Former CIA and NSA boss, retired general Michael Hayden, was Bill Maher's opening guest on Friday's show. Eventually the conversation got around to Donald Trump and what if he actually became the president of the United States. Hayden didn't pull many punches. Pick it up at the 6:00 mark:

Well, despite Hayden's confidence, there are always people who would obey an illegal order from a Trump presidency, which is a bit scary. He'll no doubt have supporters among the generals and admirals and he'll appoint them. If they refuse an illegal order, they'll have a hell of a constitutional crisis!
I mean here it was easy enough for the PMO under the last PM here to get officers (who should have known better) and other ranks to give him unentitled salutes and dig up dirt on the Opposition.
Yes, Boris, Canada's military leadership did themselves little credit with their willingness to be compromised by the Harper government. Not one resigned his or her commission in protest to defend the honour and integrity of the armed forces.
