When it comes to global peace, Canada ranks 8th out of 163 nations, according to the 2016 Global Peace Index. You can follow the link to an interactive map to see this year's results. Overall, we're doing pretty good.
The index is produced by the Vision of Humanity initiative of the Institute for Economics and Peace based in New York and Sydney, Australia.
The 2016 Global Peace Index (GPI) shows the world became less peaceful in the last year, reinforcing the underlying trend of declining peace over the last decade. Results also show a growing global inequality in peace, with the most peaceful countries continuing to improve while the least peaceful are falling into greater violence and conflict.
The 2016 GPI report provides a comprehensive update on the state of peace. It shows that amidst the global deterioration the world continues to spend enormous resources on creating and containing violence but very little on peace.

I have a question for you. You can remove this post and e-mail me at uu4077@yahoo.ca
Given your views, do you invest using SRI or ESG principles? Just curious.
No, I decided a long time ago that I wasn't cut out for the speculative hobby so I chose to invest solely in land holdings. They're modest but they're mine and they do appreciate.
