Do You Know Anybody?

I've asked around and I haven't found anybody who thinks their life will be markedly different when the bell tolls midnight and marijuana possession/use becomes lawful.

The media, at home and even abroad, is making a huge deal out of cannabis decriminalization in Canada.

"Women cry for it - Men die for it" says the movie poster. "Drug crazed abandon" - that certainly sounds interesting but somehow even more unlikely.

There'll be no "wake and bake" for me tomorrow. I'll just feed the dog, make myself a powerful cup of tea and maybe have a slice of toast with saskatoonberry jam.

Absolutely! Those that have their favourite vendor just aren't going to abandon them in favour of more expensive government weed, and those who don't aren't likely to rush down to the Government Weed Store to try it. After all, there have been decades before to decide if you want to avail yourself of its powers.
Glad to see its been legalized (no, I don't use it) but the government should have kept their grubby claws out of it.

I can't see how my life will change, either.

Once upon a time I was kind of interested in research into uses of cbd oil (topically for arthritis, for instance, and research into it's possible uses for cancer treatments), but with the government now into it, big pharma is probably not far behind and if it is any use at all, it will likely be buried.

Mostly I just hope a meteor hits me sooner than later.

But, Karen, what about the "drug-crazed abandon"?

My life will get better when CBC realizes that this really isn't news and looks for real stories.

Agreed, Rumley.

.. my ex beach volleyball partner is licensed to grow
via hydroponics for himself & one other and so he shares
with his ex beach volleyball partner ( moi )
who grew up on a farm near University of Guelph
and studied Agriculture, Football, Basketball, Beer, & Loud Music

We don't smoke it.. but we can eat it
just a nibble mind you.. as we can cook n bake
I'm mighty partial to corn meal muffins
& he is partial to stunning banana bread & the like
His granny & mom n dad have lots of spare time
to contemplate the universe & foibles of political losers
and have some nice dessert .. so to speak

Life will go on.. and as the youngsters at the euchre table
we have to cut grass, shovel snow, mend the fences etc

So no.. life will remain fairly normal.. with a bit of a glow
here n there y'know .. eh

Laughing! Interviewed by the local reporter from our local paper yesterday as to my thoughts regarding the great cannabis Wednesday. "There really isn't anything to say. My life will move along as usual". Anyong

Well, Sal, I believe you have a moral imperative to post those recipes.

Anyong, I think that goes for almost all of us. It won't make a damn bit of difference in our daily lives.

MoS, I am nearly 100. My drug-crazed abandon days are behind me. I would probably put my back out now.

I'll notice the change but it won't be huge. I've been indulging for all my adult life and now I won't be nervous about it any more. That's a change.

rumleyfips, they're all running with this stuff because it's not real news. At that, it's less unreal than a lot of stuff they obsess over.

Karen, you're only as old as you feel. Right? No?
