The Harper government, while admitting it doesn't have a clue what actually happened, says Hamas is to blame for the 40-dead Palestinians killed by Israeli fire today. The United Nations, which operates the school, says it wants a full investigation.
When picking between two proven liars, Harper doesn't hesitate to blindly accept whatever Israel claims is the truth, even when it involves a dead Canadian..
Harper and his underlings have short memories. The Cons have conveniently forgotten Canadian Forces Major Paeta Hess-von Kruedener, killed by an Israeli artillery barrage just two years ago in Lebanon. It was obvious that Israeli forces were deliberately targetting the UN observation post where the Major was stationed. That time too Harper wasn't interested in getting the facts of the killing before blaming the death on Hezbollah.

Few from the Yellow Ribbon/Red Friday troop groupies shed a tear for Canadian Forces Major Paeta Hess-von Kruedener, let alone Harper.
There was little outrage over his death in general. It was as if all our politicians and media were too embarrassed to condemn his murder while cheer leading Israel in their quest to punish/obliterate Hezbollah.
I believe Hess-von Kruedner's wife was briefly interviewed about her demands for an investigation but I never heard anything more.
This is truly disturbing. If the bombing of a civilian school isn't a war crime, I don't know what is... There is no excuse - whether Hamas started the hostilities or not.
The UN needs a more powerful mandate... A standing "Security Force" would be great...
Funny, I was thinking about the death of the Major the last few days & thinking about how it was mostly ignored. Just a very brief blip on the media & govt. radar.
And so it continues. Our govt. HAS to go.

Israel does not give a fuck about the UN, sure they created Israel but have they ever complied to a UN resolution?
Harper's talking points come directly form the Bush operatives. Just read their statements carefully and you will see. Bush said "sustainable ceasefire" and Harper and Co. used exactly the same wording.
