The Death Throes of a Newspaper (or Two)



Vancouver's two venerable dailies, the Vancouver Sun and the Province, are succumbing to a potentially terminal case of Paul Godfrey's PostMedia-itis.

The Tyee's founding editor and now journo prof, David Beers, has written a compelling piece on the end times of print journalism in Vancouver.

I bet it's even worse than it looks at Post Media. Why have these layoffs right before the Provincial Election, a time when you need reporters, and also when you might expect sell more papers to the interested public?
