You Gotta Love It - Scotland + Heatwave

Here's two fine specimens of Scottish manhood bagging a few rays.

Scotland - yeah, that place just above England - is having an early season heatwave with temperatures peaking to 26C.  My mom's family hails from there and I've visited a few times but, back then, it was cold and dreary almost year round.

Things change. I guess that's a common theme these days.

I cycled from Hull to Inverness in 1976. Summer of the English heatwave.
Got snowed on cycling over Devils Elbow. No heat in Scotland back then. A mighty change. But heck - Trump can build more golf courses.

apropos my cruel let-it-burn comment....

"''We let 150 wildfires burn each year and we need to be more transparent about that,'' said Judi Beck, Manager of Fire Management for BC Wildfire Management Branch. ''The public needs to know what we can and can't do.''
"
" there will not be much we can do about it other than evacuate communities.''"
" the area burned in Canada each year has doubled since the 1970s and why the number of fires is likely to double or even triple in the decades to come. "
