Oh Dear, It's "World Environment Day"

I've done several environment- related posts today: Stiglitz on the Green New Deal; the Global Footprint Network and Earth Overshoot Day, 2019; human consumption of microplastics; the magnificent Greta Thunberg; and a report out of Europe's national academies of science on the climate crisis and how we could spare perhaps a million lives a year if we actually did something about it. That's a pretty heavy load for one day.

Then, in my inbox, there's a message from the UN that today is World Environment Day.  It's supposed to be a celebratory event although I'm not sure why. Go with the flow, I guess. Follow the link, you can read all about it.
