Harper's Industry Minister Says China Can Explain What We're Supposedly Getting Out of Nexen Deal

It's positively stomach churning.  300,000 acres of Athabasca Tar Sands now in China's hands and Canada's industry minister has the gall to say he can't discuss it and it's up to China to tell us what the Canadian people got out of this.

Paradis did list two benefits - the Nexen board will be predominantly Canadian and the head office will remain in Calgary.  Seriously, that's what that clown had to say.

The neatest part of the interview is when the CTV stooge suggests the Nexen decision was Paradis' call.    Yeah, right.   Harper allows some ditz from Quebec to decide China's future in Athabasca?  Okay, sure.

Nexen Cave-in: Chairman Harper's Economic Desperation

You've probably already seen this article, but thought I'd link to it, anyhow.

Hi Troy. Thanks so much for the link. I hadn't seen it. A lot of us have been speculating that the Tar Sands are a giant bitumen bubble that would burst and land Alberta, and Canada, in a real mess. But Nikiforuk really lays out the argument.

Thanks again.
