Trump Warns Evangelicals of Violence if Dems Win in November

He's a man of no scruples. There's nothing he won't say, he won't do.

Now Trump is spreading fear of Democrats among evangelicals, people who are a wee bit susceptible to believing absolute crap.

"This November 6 election is very much a referendum on not only me, it's a referendum on your religion, it's a referendum on free speech and the First Amendment. It's a referendum on so much," Trump told the assemblage of pastors and other Christian leaders gathered in the State Dining Room, according to a recording from people in the room.
"It's not a question of like or dislike, it's a question that they will overturn everything that we've done and they will do it quickly and violently. And violently. There is violence. When you look at Antifa -- these are violent people," Trump said, describing what would happen should his voters fail to cast ballots. "You have tremendous power. You were saying, in this room, you have people who preach to almost 200 million people. Depending on which Sunday we're talking about."
"I think we're doing well, I think we're popular, but there's a real question as to whether people are going to vote if I'm not on the ballot. And I'm not on the ballot."

Note the wording: "it's a referendum on your religion." He can't even bring himself to say "our religion" because he's incapable of imagining anything greater than himself.

He's telling these Christian Taliban pastors straight up that he's an atheist and delighting as they bend to kiss his heinie. As much as I hate Trump, I gotta admire the chutzpah here.

There's actually a shitpost of takes on this,

- He's telling them the 403 exemption has been lifted so they can preach politics from the pulpit, ( nope, never happened)

- He's inferring that they will have to use violence aginst Democrats if they win the mid terms, to "defend themselves" and "their way of life",

He's basically calling for armed civil war.

“When you look at Antifa …”

They seem to have settled on using the Antifa label to identify the bogeyman behind any civil disturbances that aren’t generated by their ideological brethren, and generally blame Antifa for those ones if possible. They’ve become quite hooked on it. I think the perception of this group or set of groups that they’re spreading is out of scale to its actual significance and depth of organization: something that’s for the most part a fabrication born of exaggeration or delusion.

After the Locke St disturbances in Hamilton a few months ago, a buddy, who is a great admirer of Trump and follower of QAnon and deep state conspiracy theories, told me that he was going to travel to that city for some future confrontation that he’d been advised was to take place between “patriot” groups and people from the group that had created the original disturbance. He said they were going to put “Antifa” in its place. I told him that I was surprised at this since the rioters were protesting gentrification and were likely of Black Bloc or anarchist affiliation if any and, as such, should be counted among his fellow anti-globalists. (He didn’t end up going there anyway and I think the confrontation ended up consisting of a few slobs yelling at each other, some indignant neighbourhood people and the police for a few minutes.)

.. I believe Robert Mueller will decide very shortly either to release a preliminary report, or hold his fire until aftrr the midterms. Though the way the USA is sinking under Trump and the GOP, the time to strike may be now. Surely indicting Trump Junior and Kushner will flush out the unscrupulous ignoramus types. Even more worriesome to me though, is the trend to vicious policing. As if 95 % of hires are rascist thugs now, and are directed to be merciless. And what of the National Guard or Reserves?

There is no lie too big for the president pus sack in the White House or lolling at country clubs or his ludicrous 'pep rallies'. He emboldened all manner of creeps, white nationalists, racists, and just look at some of the candidates in various state midterms ! What comes out of their Republican mouths is simply astonishing, the gerrymandering and stalling despite the court orders, the outright destruction of voting rolls. On the Dem side there are folks who think Hillary should make another run ! Seriously ! What could go wrong down there ? Anything and everything ..

Antifia, is just anti-facists. There's the White Flower Jugglers, the Raging Grannies, the White Flour Clowns, The Rainbow Unicorn LBGTQ Youth Against Nazi's, Anti-Nazi Librarian Collective and other groups. They make up 90% of "Antifia",

Then there's the Red Block, Spartacists, Communists and SOAR, they wear red, carry Spanish Civil War flags, and are willing to engage in violence to protect peaceful protestors from Nazi violence.

Then, there's the Black Block, anarchists just looking for a fight.

99.9% of "Antifia" accounts on Social Media are basement dwellers doing it for the lutz, or Russian trolls.

But, because QAnon, cons, Nazi's cant be unpopular, so of course there must be a Conspiracy against them.

Enjoy the Nazi tears.

There was a time when antifa described just about everyone in the country. But I guess that was just a successful deep-state plot to marginalize America Firsters.

There isn't anything as wonderful as Religious men telling their flock how to vote while threatening their believers A very wide line needs to be drawn between Politics and Religion. That means a secular society. This we need in Canada as well. Anyong

...Whatever happened to the notion of "separation of church and state"?
Religious beliefs are (or should be) a personal right, not a basis for national policy.

...or am I being myopic in that assessment?

Religion in Canada is protected by our Charter of Rights and Freedoms". That covers the personal bit. However, if you happen to think that religion doesn't enter into politics in Alberta....please think again. It does. Anyong
