Harper's Gone but They're Still Kicking Him to the Curb

In two decisions that seem more like janitorial service the Supreme Court of Canada has struck down two of Shifty Steve Harper's "tough on crime" laws.

One was a mandatory-minimum sentence enactment. The other was Beelzebub's restriction of "time served" before trial in sentencing.

Years ago, after the reformatory win, my chiropractors wife asked my opinion. I told her that Harper wouldn't be able to do as much damage to Canada as he wanted . My faith in Canadians is rewarded.

The fact is Rumley that we owe most of that to Trudeau Mk.1. Without the restraining force of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and a Court free of corruption, Harper could have had a field day. Harper despised the Charter as a vampire the noonday sun.
