In two decisions that seem more like janitorial service the Supreme Court of Canada has struck down two of
Shifty Steve Harper's "tough on crime" laws.
One was a mandatory-minimum sentence enactment. The other was Beelzebub's restriction of "time served" before trial in sentencing.

Years ago, after the reformatory win, my chiropractors wife asked my opinion. I told her that Harper wouldn't be able to do as much damage to Canada as he wanted . My faith in Canadians is rewarded.
The fact is Rumley that we owe most of that to Trudeau Mk.1. Without the restraining force of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and a Court free of corruption, Harper could have had a field day. Harper despised the Charter as a vampire the noonday sun.
