I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

It all began in 1945 with the "Trinity" test near Los Alamos. That was followed by the two atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki ending WWII. It led Robert Oppenheimer to lament, "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds" a phrase he borrowed from the Baghavad Ghita.

Since Trinity, the US, Russia, Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan and Israel have dabbled in the dark arts of the destroyers of worlds. Most recently North Korea has joined the Club of Madness.

Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a chilling time lapse animation showing each of the staggering two thousand fifty three nuclear devices detonated from Trinity in 1945 until Pakistan's final test in 1998.
