How F#@ked Up Is This?
Remember Reverend Sun Young Moon and his Unification Church, one of the wackier cults to put roots down in America?
To keep up with the times, i.e. the school massacres, the church is offering "rod of iron" blessings. Parishioners dress up in the mandatory gear, crowns included, and stop by to get their assault rifles blessed.

Assault rifles blessed?! When I read "rod of iron" I thought it was a fertility ceremony.

Perhaps somehow appropriate, given the religion of guns and death practised by far too many in the U.S.
It's another sign of a society in trouble, Lorne. Everytime I read this stuff I think of the German obsession with decadence and the occult in the decades before WWII.
We have seen the likes of this , many years ago..
