World Bank - Says What Everybody Knows, We're in Trouble

A World Bank report released today warns the world is heading for 4C of warming this century and that means trouble for everybody but especially if you're one of the nobodies from the poorest and most vulnerable countries.

There it is, the whole report boiled down to one sentence.   Not too hard to follow, is it?   Doesn't sound like the sort of world we want for our grandkids does it?  Yet it sounds every bit like the world we're determined to bequeath them.

Certainly gives you something to think about when you're trying to pick which petro-pol should govern Canada - Mulcair, some Lib or Harper.   Fact is, when it comes to the greatest threat facing Canada and the world this century there's damned little to choose from among this lot.   They're all vying for the centre control position in our rapidly emerging, pariah petro-state.

Vote Green.

The non action on climate change is a sad comment on how no party wants to take on the petro lobby, Mound.

Owen, I don't know if you noticed my subsequent post. Anyone 27 or under has never experienced a month in which the global temperature was lower than normal. Anyone 27 or under. Not one month, not one. 27 consecutive years, 322 consecutive months of above normal global temperatures. Twenty seven years, all recorded diligently by the esteemed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Remember when you were in your mid to late-30's, Owen? That's the last time our planet had a below-average monthly temperature.

We should all do that, subtract 27-years from our current ages and think back. It puts this issue in a brand new and very troubling light.

It should make us wonder how we can support today's Canadian petro-pols of any stripe, New Democrat, Liberal or Conservative.

Twenty seven years.
