It wasn't even close - 412 to 202. With that, Theresa May gets to return to Brussels for EU consent to postpone the Brexit date.
Hard to know what awaits as the EU needs a unanimous vote to consent to the postponement. Some of those EU councillors are already fed up with the antics underway in the British House of Commons.
May will need to come with something more than, "sorry, we can't get our act together." Some of the EU representatives want to hear something concrete, a plan for what May intends to achieve between now and the end of June. European Council president, Donald Tusk, says the Brits will need to present "a credible justification for a possible extention."

Here's hoping EU-oligarchs are getting fed up with Britain. The more they throw their weight around, the more they expose themselves.
People will start to ask themselves: who put them in charge? They will also begin to question: create and empire to prevent an empire? How does that make any sense?
The European Union is a fig-leaf of false hope. A pretense of progress while plutocrats whittle away living standards from above the fray of democracy.
It needs some big reforms to say the least. This kind of corruption will plunge Europe into war if it goes too far. (If history is for repeating itself.)
Gee, I took everything you wrote and put it in the context of the United States. Bingo, right on the money!
Three big votes in three days. Seems they've forgotten about one. How about a vote to leave this whole barmey Brexit business behind?
Cap
Unfortunately, Cap, no one is willing to admit a mistake.
EU Elections are May 23-26, 2019.
If the UK get’s an extension, it won’t be past May 22 as the drop dead date, because the EU won’t want to have Upper Class Twits of the Year, like Nigel, sitting in the EU Parliament.
@ anon 1.50pm.
The USA is closer to dissolution than the EU.
Other than the UK the EU have become accustomed to borderless travel , employment etc.
In the end run we need a strong EU to compete with a bullying USA and a soon to become bullying China.
I am not alone in wishing Canada alternative trade and, more importantly, cultural relationships than what the USA provides.
Uncle Sams cultural melting pot sucks!
