The War on Trans-Fats Heats Up

The New York city board of health is giving the city's restaurants six months to become trans-fat free. It's apparently the first time such action has been taken by a municipality.

The city's 24,000 restaurateurs aren't terribly happy about the six month deadline but the city isn't budging.

The American Heart Association hopes restaurants don't simply switch to alternatives high in saturated fats such as palm oil.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg assures New Yorkers they'll still be able to have their fries and eat them too, only they'll be a bit healthier.
