"What a Tangled Web We Weave... " More Stormy Weather Heading Trump's Way.

That old orange bugger just can't catch a break.

Porn queen, Stormy Daniels, says that Trump lawyer, Michael Cohen's admission that he paid her $130,000 in hush money not to talk about her fling with the now President of the United States of America breaches their agreement and she's now free to talk.

It seems that Stormy and her lawyer are open for business and waiting to entertain offers for an exclusive on her tawdry Vegas hotel room lap dance with the Cheeto Benito.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, believes that Trump attorney Michael Cohen invalidated a non-disclosure agreement after two news stories were published Tuesday: One, in which Cohen told The New York Times that he made the six-figure payment with his personal funds, and another in the Daily Beast, which reported that Cohen was shopping a book proposal that would touch on Daniels' story, said the manager, Gina Rodriguez.

"Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story," Rodriguez said.

[I]n a 2011 interview with the gossip magazine In Touch Weekly, the actress -- who the magazine said passed a polygraph exam -- said the two had sex and she described a subsequent yearslong relationship. The AP has previously reported that In Touch held off on publishing her account after Cohen threatened to sue the publication. It published the interview last month.

In recent weeks the actress has played coy, declining to elaborate when pressed on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Rodriguez said her client will soon announce how and when she will tell her story publicly. The celebrity website The Blast first reported the contention that Cohen's comments freed Clifford from her non-disclosure agreement.

"What a tangled web we weave when first we learn to deceive." I'll bet Walter Scott never imagined when he penned that line that it would become so eternal.

Mound, I fear we're falling for the ol' "busty hookers" ploy again. While everyone's following the titillating details of Cohen's ploy to cover up Trump's infidelities, we're missing the bigger story connected to Cohen.

Trump is keenly aware of prestige, which is why he touts his own Ivy League credentials. So why would he make a Cooley grad like Cohen his personal lawyer? Cooley has a 41% bar pass rate and is widely considered one of America's worst law schools.

Cohen, though, has something besides his Cooley JD, and that's strong connections to oligarchs. Cohen's brother is married to the daughter of Ukranian-born millionaire Alex Oronov. Cohen himself has extensive ties to players in the Ukrainian and Russian oil and gas industries. Since 2007, Cohen and his extended family appear to have facilitated the flow of capital from the former Soviet Union that kept Trump afloat when American banks stopped lending to him.

Cohen is a far more important link to Russia than Manafort, Flynn and Page. Toward the end of the transition period, Cohen and Oronov are reported to have met secretly with Russian officials to hatch a “peace plan” that would give Putin control of the Crimea. Also at the meeting was Felix Sater, a long-time business associate of Trump who is reported to be a federal informant with ties to the Russian mafia. The "peace plan" landed on Flynn's desk early in the Trump administration. A week later, Flynn was gone. Oronov died in mysterious circumstances a month later, joining a long list of dead people who may have displeased the Kremlin.

I suspect Mueller may be putting pressure on Cohen, which is why the WH has got the media following the Trump-Cohen-Stormy Daniels tabloid scandal instead of focusing on the Trump-Cohen-Russia connection. It's damage control, Trump style.

Cap, I really appreciate it when you unload a mass of background information almost none of us have heard of elsewhere. As for Cohen, I never thought he was very bright. His latest stunt seemed panicked, even stupid. With those connections, however, I'm pretty sure Mueller must be onto this guy. Fascinating stuff. Thanks.
