Fareed Zakaria's Take on Bush

Okay, sure, it was the Daily Show but it was the opinion of Fareed Zakaria, co-editor of Newsweek and an expert voice on the Middle East.

The conversation turned to reports that President George Bush is furiously meeting advisors in order to formulate a new policy on Iraq to be announced early in 2007. Zakaria said that he thinks it's a charade.

According to Zakaria, Bush doesn't need advisors, he "needs a therapist." Pretty tough talk for such a normally restrained commentator.

The only thing that will change Bush's mind, said Zakaria, will be events on the ground in Iraq. Not until conditions get even worse than they are today will he budge.
