And Then There's This Puppy

This is the Ivanpah solar plant that went online today.

The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System is now operational and delivering solar electricity to California customers. At full capacity, the facility's trio of 450-foot high towers produces a gross total of 392 megawatts (MW) of solar power, enough electricity to provide 140,000 California homes with clean energy and avoid 400,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, equal to removing 72,000 vehicles off the road.

now you really have to wonder why governments are trying to destroy our environment with gas and oil production. the sun will work just fine, for what we need. good on California. Not all places can use solar energy, but there certainly are enough places in the world that it makes sense to use this technology. It will save a lot of money. Oh, there is the problem, the 1%ers won't be able to make as much money. ah well
