Top Quebec Tory Fine with Charter of Values

The Quebec government's proposed Charter of Values may have Jason Kenney's frillies in a bunch but the Tories' senior minister from Quebec, Denis Lebel, is fine with it.

According to Lebel, "there's nothing that upsets me in there."

There is a little more to this soundbyte. He did continue and stated: "We'll respect provincial jurisdiction, let people make their choice and, after that, we'll see- we'll make sure that Canadian's rights are respected".

See? That sounds much better and more nuanced.

Well, Anon, we've had more than six years to assess the value of Tory assurances. Even Harper's former BFF, Tom Flanagan, has said that Steve's stock in trade is to say whatever the public wants to hear and then quietly do nothing.

Now, does that still sound better to you?

I do not expect Harpercons to do anything except sow discord.

I'm rather certain, as you point out, that different audiences will get different messages and no action in the end.
