California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to announce on Monday a plan to provide health insurance to all California children. If approved by his legislature, it would extend coverage to some 763,000 children who now do without healthcare coverage.
The Terminator's main opponents are expected to be his own Republicans who are angry that their governor's proposal would also cover the kids of illegal aliens.
The proposal is believed to extend coverage to people earning up to three times California's official poverty level. That would cover a family of four with an annual income of $60,000 per year. This is the point at which 90% of children are thought to be without healthcare insurance.
