The manner in which Saddam Hussein was executed has drawn enormous attention and condemnation worldwide. The picture that has emerged is of a vengeance killing replete with the trappings of barbarism.
Any hope the Maliki government may have clung to of convincing people otherwise is now as dead and cold as Saddam thanks to a New York Times report on what really happened during Hussein's last night on earth:
