By now you're probably familiar with the term "carbon footprint." It's used as a measure of how much carbon dioxide each individual's lifestyle creates and, if you're from the West, it's probably a Sasquatch size footprint.
An article in The Independent reveals that, barely one week into January, the average Briton's carbon footprint already equals that of the typical Kenyan for a whole year. It's a reminder that it is the wealthy countries that generate most of the greenhouse gas emissions but the poor, and cleanest, countries that endure the worst consequences of it in the form of droughts, floods, starvation and disease.
Fortunately for us, they're poor and powerless and so very far away. Hey, did you check out the new Esplanade?
